Sip + Supper Event

come hungry

Sunday dinner, with wine at the centre of the table.

Chef Maddy Goldberg · Sommelier Sarah Mifsud

The story

Chef Maddy Goldberg and Sommelier Sarah Mifsud at Contrada

It began as a simple wish. A Sunday dinner where everyone at the table belongs.

Maddy cooks the way she was fed, mostly Italian, in courses that keep arriving. Sarah pours the wine that the food asks for, and shares just enough about it. Guests may not arrive together, but they leave feeling as though they did.

Sip + Supper Event is inclusive and queer-forward, built around chosen family. There is no dress code and no ceremony. There is community-based dining, candlelight, good bread, and wine chosen with care.

Seats are limited on purpose. Forty to fifty guests, in two seatings, so the room stays warm and the service stays personal.

Giving back

A seat that gives back.

A portion of every ticket goes to the Fort York Food Bank. Giving back has always been at the heart of how Maddy cooks. Every week she volunteers in the kitchen at the Fort York Food Bank, turning donations into meals for more than a hundred neighbours. When you take a seat at our table, you help set another one.

The room

Hosted at Contrada.

Sip + Supper is hosted at Contrada, a modern Italian restaurant in the heart of Toronto's Little Italy, at College and Euclid. Named for the Italian word for district, Contrada was built as a neighbourhood gathering place, with seasonal, locally sourced cooking, a wine list of thoughtful, low-intervention Italian producers, and a warm, candlelit room full of vintage character. Toronto Life and Air Canada named it one of the best new restaurants of 2024. It is the kind of room that makes a Sunday dinner feel like home.
